Prepare Avocados
Remove the stem from the fruit. Using a sharp
knife, halve the fruit. Turn the avocado on the blade as you slice. Twist
the avocado halves and pull apart.
Using the back end of the knife blade, lightly tap
the seed to imbed the knife. Give the blade a gentle twist and remove seed.
To dislodge seed from knife, gently push on seed with thumb and forefinger.
To remove skin make an incision down the center
of the avocado, just cutting through the skin. Peel back skin.
It is easy to cut an avocado into thin, attractive
slices. Simply use the front edge of a sharp knife and make straight downward
cuts at 1/4" intervals.
Place on serving dish and press slices lightly with
hand or knife blade to create a fan.
